Be It enacted by the .lOHN .BQA.RP. - ofthe (Ntmt ofLegislative Body) ^9|Wt of CLAY asfollows: Tbwn mnmx Amendment of Chapter 125-A entitled "Alternative Veterans Exemption", Section I25-A.4 Granting of Exemption, Subparagraphs 1, 2 and 3 to the Town of Clay Municipal Code, The purpose of this local law is to increase the maximum exemption allowalbe to veterans as provided in paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) of subdivision 2 of Section 458-a of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York, with new limits of $27,000.00, $18,000.00 and $90,000.00 respectively. DOS-230 (Rev. 7/^l> (1) § 125-A.I ALTERNATIVE VETERANS EXEMPTION LOCAL LAW § 125-A.6 § I25-A.1 Title This Chapter shall be known as the "ALTERNATIVE VETERANS EXEMPTION LAW OF THE TOWN OF CLAY". § 125-A.2 Eurposfi The purpose of this local law is to increase the maximum exemption allowable to veterans as provided in paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) of subdivision 2 of Section 458-a ofthe Real Property Tax Law ofthe State ofNew York. § 125-A.3 Definitions The meanings of words and expressions as used in this Chapter shall be identical to their meanings as used in Section 458-a of the Real Property Tax Law ofthe State ofNew York. § 125-A.4 Granting of Exemption 1. The maximum exemption allowable pursuant to paragraph (a) of subdivision 2 of Section 458-a ofthe Real Property Tax Law is hereby increased to the sum of $27,000.00; 2. The maximum exemption allowable pursuant to paragraph (b) of the Real Property Tax Law is hereby increased to the sum of 518,000.00; and 3. The maximum exemption allowable pursuant to paragraph (c) of the Real Properfy Tax Law is hereby increased to the sum of $90,000.00. § 125-A.5 Application This local law shall apply to assessment rolls prepared on the basis of a taxable status date occurring on or after January 1st, 1998. § 125-A.6 Effective Date This local law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State. 125-A. 1 (Complete the certlflcation tn the paragraph that applies to thefliingof this local law and strike out that which Is not applicable.) 1.
