The district reviewed proposed updates to the 2026-27 Code of Conduct and District Safety Plan. Proposed Code of Conduct changes included clarifying definitions related to student behavior and discipline, separating cheating and plagiarism violations, updating policies on electronic devices to include AI-powered wearables, revising athletic eligibility language for consistency, and proposing restrictions on e-bikes and e-scooters on campus for safety reasons. District officials noted that a 30-day public comment period would begin following the hearing, with final Board of Education approval anticipated at the July 1, 2026 reorganizational meeting.
4. 5:15 PM Public Hearing for 2026-2027 District Safety Plan/SRO & SRPO Agreements
A. Public Hearing - District Safety Plan/SRO & SRPO Agreement (2026-2027) The district presented updates to the 2026-27 School Safety Plan, which primarily included editorial revisions, updated staff titles and emergency contact information, enrollment and nursing updates, revised CPR/AED procedures, updated emergency response team and SRO information, and a revised bomb threat checklist. The district highlighted the planned hiring of a Director of School Safety and Security and noted pending salary updates related to school resource officers.
