What the gate checks
Our automated coverage is not published on trust. Before an article can reach
the site it is re-checked, mechanically, against the documents it came from. Any
single failure blocks publication — the draft is rejected and rewritten, not
published with a warning:
- Quotations must be verbatim. Any quoted passage must appear word for word in the official minutes.
- Dollar figures need a source. Every dollar amount must appear in a source document, in any of the ways the record itself writes it.
- Names need provenance. A person may only be named if the name appears in the minutes, the agenda or the meeting documents, spelled exactly as the record spells it.
- No silent expansion. Writers may not expand abbreviations or acronyms beyond what the record itself uses — an expansion the record doesn't contain is treated as fabrication.
- The record is the boundary. An article may not claim anything the meeting's own record does not say. Where the record is silent — a vote not tallied, minutes not posted — the article says so.
Two honest limits. Automated checking is not the same as a human
reading every line — features and editorials get a full editor read before
publication; routine minutes reports rely on the gate plus periodic adversarial
review passes. And the gate can only check an article against its sources; it
cannot tell us what the record leaves out. That judgement is human.

Every article records which of these produced it. The editorial instructions
and internal design of the pipelines are our own work and are not published; what
they are checked against, above, is.

Minutes report

Drafted by our AI minutes pipeline from the official minutes — the board's own record of the meeting — and checked against that record by an automated verification gate before publication.
The minutes are the sole source: the article may not claim anything the record does not say. Before publication a deterministic gate blocks the draft unless every quotation is verbatim from the minutes, every dollar figure traces to the document it came from, and every personal name matches the record exactly.
Early coverage (re-verified)

An early article, drafted by AI before our verification gate existed. Every one was later adversarially re-reviewed against its source record, and the errors found were corrected and republished in August 2026.
We keep early coverage online rather than quietly deleting it. In August 2026 independent review passes checked all of it against the official record; most needed corrections, which were applied. A handful of early articles written from unusable source pages were unpublished entirely.
