                          TOWN OF CLAY
LOCAL LAW NO. 6 OF THE YEAR 2008 ABOLISHING THE CLAY POLICE
DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 150(4) OF THE NYS TOWN LAW
AND THE TRANSFER OF FUNCTION OF THE TOWN POLICE
DEPARTMENT WITH THE ONONDAGA COUNTY SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT AND FURTHER TO ENTER INTO A PROPOSED CONTRACT
WITH ONONDAGA COUNTY FOR THE EXTENSION OF ADDITIONAL
POLICE SERVICES WITHIN THE TOVm OF CLAY, TO THE CODE OF THE
TOWN OF CLAY.
IT IS ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Clay, County of Onondaga, as
follows:
SECTION 1. Abolishing the Town of Clay Police Department pursuant to Section
150(4) of New York State Law and to the transfer of function of the Town Police
Department with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department and further to enter into a
proposed Contract with Onondaga County for the extension of addidonal police services
within the Town of Clay to the Code of the Town of Clay. THIS L O C A L L A W AND
RESOLUTION WAS SUBJECT TO A PUBLIC REFERENDUM, AND WAS
D U L Y APPROVED B Y QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID TOWN OF C L A Y
VOTING A T T H E SPECIAL ELECTION WHICH WAS DULY C A L L E D , H E L D
AND CONDUCTED ON JUNE 23RD, 2008.

VOTING AT A SPECIAL ELECTION DULY CALLED, HELD AND
CONDUCTED ON JUNE 23RD, 2008,
LOCAL LAW NO. 6 OF THE YEAR 2008
                         TOWN OF CLAY, NEW YORK
The purpose of Local Law No. 6 of the Year 2008 is to abolish the Town of Clay Police
Department, pursuant to Section 150(4) of NYS Town Law and to transfer the function of
the Town of Clay Police Department to the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department and
further to enter into a proposed contract with Onondaga County for the extension of
additional police services within the Town of Clay.
Section 1,    Abolishing the Town of Clay Police Department pursuant to Section
150(4) of New York State Law and to the transfer of function of the Town Police
Department with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department and further to enter into a
proposed Contract with Onondaga County for the extension of additional police services

This Local Law shall take effect upon filing with the Secretary of State.
