Clay’s Town Board has scheduled an informational hearing on its tentative 2027 budget for 7:33 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, according to its revised agenda.

The board is also scheduled to hear comments at 7:47 p.m. on a proposed local law that would opt out of state property-tax exemptions for battery energy storage systems and make those systems fully taxable in Clay. That is a tax proposal, not approval of a particular storage project.

The agenda calls for considering whether to advance the tentative budget, as proposed or modified, to a preliminary budget. It also proposes setting Nov. 4 hearings on the town’s preliminary, special-district, fire-protection and uniform-water budgets. Those hearing dates would require board action; the agenda does not establish that they have been approved.
