IT IS ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Clay, County of Onondaga as follows:
SECTION 1. Amendment of Chapter 230 endtled "ZONING", Article IV, Supplemental
Regulations, Section 230-22, Paragraph "B. Definitions" and Paragraph "C.(3)(F)[2] adding a new
category 'Grand Opening Sign' and to remove from "Table A - Major Signs Chart" all "MIN Itr
height" rows of the Code of the Town Of Clay"
The purpose of this local law 2008-07 is to amend CHAPTER 230 entitled "ZONING", Article
IV, Supplemental Regulations, Section 230-22, paragraph, B. Definitions and paragraph C.(3)(f)[2]
adding a new category 'Grand Opening Sign" and removing all "Min Itr height" rows from "Table A
Major Signs Chart' of the Code of the Town of Clay
Said Local Law reads as follows:

§230-22 Signs.
The puipose of this local law is to add the definition for GRAND OPENING after 'TREESTANDING
SIGN" to Section 230.22 B. Definitions, and to add to Section 230-22 C. Sign Standards and Requirements,
Subpar^raph (3)(f)[2] Short dm^tion temporary sign a new category for Grand Opening S ^ and to remove
all ' M I N Itr height rows from Table A - Major Signs in die Code of the Town of Clay.
B. Definitions.
GRAND OPENING SIGN: An exterior wall sign, banner, or freestanding sign intended for display for a
limited period of time to advertise the opening of a new business for which a certificate of occupancy
permit has been issued.
C. Sign Standards and Requirements.
(3.) Temporary sign standards.
(f) Types of temporary signs:
[2] Short duration temporarv signs include signs related to the occurrence of a specific
event or related to a date-certain activity.
Grand Opening- These signs may be installed a maximum of four (4)
weeks; either prior to, during, or after the event. No sign shall exceed
thirty-two (32) square feet in area in any zone district.
